Officers with the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Department say they observed a motorist driving at 70 mph on Suffolk Avenue in Brentwood with no tail lights on Saturday, Sept. 21 around 4 a.m.

Further investigation revealed that the driver, identified as Melissa Quinteros, 23, of Port Washington, appeared to be intoxicated, police say.

Quinteros was asked to participate in a series of field sobriety tests, which police say she did not pass.

Quinteros subsequently submitted to a chemical breath test, which gave a reading of .12, according to police.

Quinteros was charged with DWI and is scheduled to appear in court on a future date.
